Today I visited the Pre Operative Assessment Centre (POAC) to go through the many checks necessary ahead of my operation on the 1st of July. I came away with a dose of this powerful concoction, Moviprep, or rocket fuel as I prefer to think of it. I have only had one previous experience of this stuff, a few weeks back ahead of my colonoscopy. In basic terms it clears out your colon with the force of a jet engine.
Let me paint a picture for you. If you fed me this stuff over a six hour period and then sat me on the deck of an aircraft carrier, I think I could make it off the end and probably sustain flight for a brief moment, courtesy of my high-octane arse emissions. The last time I used it, I ran for the loo, missed timed it and sprayed my lunch from the day before up the back wall of our downstairs toilet. It’s all in the timing!
Andy – so brave and just brilliantly written. We are of an age when almost everyone we know has been touched in some way by this awful, unforgiving disease. Will pray for you. And swear for you.
xx
Julie, thank you for your comment. Swear with vigour and passion it does us all good. Best wishes to you and yours.
